Description
A 160 litre air receiver tank stores compressed air so your compressor isn’t starting and stopping all the time. It smooths out pressure, reduces wear on the compressor and gives you a reserve of air for big demands.

Why add a 160 litre air receiver tank?
- Fewer start/stop cycles on the compressor
- Steadier pressure at the tool
- Extra air on hand for short bursts of high demand
- Lets moisture settle out before the air lines
Setting up a clean, dry air system
A good workshop air system runs in this order: compressor, receiver tank, dryer, then filters and regulators before the air lines. The receiver gives the air a chance to cool so water drops out, the dryer removes most of what’s left, and the filters catch oil and fine particles. Fit auto drains on the receiver and dryer so you don’t have to remember to drain them. Slope your air lines slightly back towards a drain point, and take drops off the top of the main line so water doesn’t run into your tools.
Pair it with a refrigerated air dryer for clean, dry air.
Screw or piston?
Piston compressors are simple, affordable and great for jobs where the compressor gets a rest between bursts. Rotary screw compressors cost more up front but are built to run continuously, deliver steady air and are much quieter. If the 160 litre air receiver tank will be running most of the day, a screw compressor is usually the better long-term buy.

Questions we get asked
What size receiver do I need?
A common rule of thumb is a few litres of storage per CFM of compressor output. Tell us your compressor and usage and we’ll recommend a size.
Does it need inspecting?
Pressure vessels should be drained daily and inspected regularly. Follow your state’s workplace safety rules.
Will it fit my compressor?
It suits most screw compressors. Send us the model if you’re not sure.
