Description
This 40 cfm refrigerated air dryer takes the moisture out of compressed air before it reaches your tools. Wet air rusts air lines, ruins spray finishes and wears out air tools early. A 40 cfm refrigerated air dryer fixes that.

Choosing the right size
Match the dryer to your compressor’s output. A 40 CFM dryer suits a compressor delivering up to 40 CFM. If you’re unsure, tell us which compressor you have and we’ll match it.
Who needs a 40 cfm refrigerated air dryer?
- Spray painting and panel shops
- Workshops running air tools all day
- Food, packaging and manufacturing
- Any setup with long air line runs
Setting up a clean, dry air system
A good workshop air system runs in this order: compressor, receiver tank, dryer, then filters and regulators before the air lines. The receiver gives the air a chance to cool so water drops out, the dryer removes most of what’s left, and the filters catch oil and fine particles. Fit auto drains on the receiver and dryer so you don’t have to remember to drain them. Slope your air lines slightly back towards a drain point, and take drops off the top of the main line so water doesn’t run into your tools.

Screw or piston?
Piston compressors are simple, affordable and great for jobs where the compressor gets a rest between bursts. Rotary screw compressors cost more up front but are built to run continuously, deliver steady air and are much quieter. If the 40 cfm refrigerated air dryer will be running most of the day, a screw compressor is usually the better long-term buy.
