Shipping container FAQs – 20ft container on a level site

How much does a shipping container cost in Australia?

Our new 10ft containers start at $1,780, a new 20ft shipping container is $2,999 and a new 40ft is $3,999. Used B grade containers start at $2,399 for a 20ft. High cube and side opening containers cost a little more. Freight is quoted separately to your postcode.

Do you deliver shipping containers Australia-wide?

Yes. We deliver to all states and territories, including regional and remote areas. You can also pick up from our depots in Sydney, Banyo (Brisbane), Sunshine (Melbourne) and Albany WA.

What’s the difference between new and used containers?

New (one trip) containers have made a single voyage and are in near-new condition. Used B grade containers are wind and water tight with working doors, but show dents, scratches and surface rust. Used is cheaper and perfect for farm and yard storage.

Do you sell container homes and container pools?

Yes. We sell expandable container homes, accommodation modules, office pods and a 20ft shipping container pool, all delivered Australia-wide.

Do I need council approval for a shipping container?

It depends on your council and how you use it. Temporary storage on rural land often needs nothing, but homes, pools and permanent structures usually need approval. Check with your local council first.

How do I pay?

Check out online or request a quote. We email a tax invoice and freight quote, you pay by bank transfer, and we lock in delivery once payment clears.

What sizes do shipping containers come in?

The common sizes are 10ft (about 3m long), 20ft (about 6m) and 40ft (about 12m). All are about 2.44m wide. Standard containers are 2.59m high and high cube containers are 2.9m high.

What does ‘one trip’ mean?

A one trip container has made a single voyage from the factory, usually carrying cargo to Australia. It’s as close to new as you’ll get.

What does B grade mean for a used container?

B grade containers are structurally sound and wind and water tight, with doors that open and lock. They’ll have dents, scratches and some surface rust.

Can I modify a shipping container?

Yes. Shelving, whirlybirds, extra doors, roller doors, windows and painting are all common. Ask us and we’ll price it up.

How long does delivery take?

Metro deliveries near our depots can often happen within a few days. Regional and remote deliveries take longer to book in. We’ll give you a date when we quote.

Do container homes come with plumbing and electrics?

Our container homes arrive fitted out. A licensed plumber and electrician need to connect the services on site.

Do container pools need a fence?

Yes. All pools in Australia need compliant pool fencing, and most need council approval or a certifier.

Are dome shelters sold with the containers?

No. Dome shelters are priced separately, but we can package the dome and the containers together.
