Description

A 40ft high cube container gives you an extra foot of height over a standard box – 2.9m outside instead of 2.59m. That extra headroom makes a real difference when you’re stacking pallets, storing tall machinery, or fitting out a workshop or office.

Every unit is new (one trip) and comes with a lock box on the doors.

What people use a 40ft high cube container for

  • Business and household storage
  • Site offices and lunch rooms
  • Workshops and man caves
  • Container home and pool conversions
  • Secure storage for machinery and tools

Build and condition

New containers are built from Corten steel with marine-grade ply floors, steel cross members and heavy-duty locking bars. The paint is fresh, the doors swing easily and the seals are tight.

We can also help with extras like shelving, whirlybirds, extra doors, roller doors, windows and painting. Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll price it up.

Getting your 40ft high cube container on site

Most containers are delivered on a tilt tray or a side loader. For a tilt tray, plan on firm, level ground with a clear straight run and no low power lines or branches. Larger units may need a side loader, which needs room alongside the truck to set the container down.

Put it on level blocks or sleepers at each corner so the doors open and shut properly and the floor stays off the dirt.

Choosing between sizes

A 10ft is great for tight spaces, a 20ft is the most popular all-rounder, and a 40ft gives you double the floor space for not much more money. High cube containers add an extra 30cm of height, and side opening containers give you full-length access. If you’re weighing up a 40ft high cube container against another size, think about what you’ll store, how you’ll load it, and how much room the truck has to get in.

Still unsure? Tell us what you’re storing and where it’s going, and we’ll suggest the right container. Browse all shipping containers for sale.

Questions we get asked

Is the 40ft high cube container wind and water tight?

Yes. Every unit we sell is wind and water tight with working doors. New units are one-trip boxes in excellent condition.

Do I need council approval for a shipping container?

It depends on your council and how long it stays. Temporary storage on rural land often needs nothing, but in town and for permanent use it’s worth a quick call to your local council first.

Can you deliver to regional areas?

Yes, we deliver Australia-wide. Send us your postcode and a few details about site access and we’ll quote the freight.

Can I see the container before I buy?

Of course. You’re welcome to inspect stock at our depots by appointment, or we can send photos.
