Reading the size
11 is the nominal section width in inches, R means radial, and 22.5 is the rim diameter in inches. Always match the load index and speed rating to your vehicle’s requirements.

Radial or bias ply?
Radial tyres have steel belts under the tread, so the tread stays flat on the ground. They run cooler, grip better and usually wear slower on hard, abrasive surfaces – the go-to for loaders that travel a lot. Bias ply tyres have layered nylon cords running at an angle. Their stiff sidewalls stand up well to cuts and punctures in rocky ground, and they cost less up front. If your machine mostly works in a small area on rough ground, bias ply is often the smarter buy. If it travels between stockpiles or works on concrete and bitumen, a radial usually pays for itself.
Fitting and safety
Large tyres are heavy and run at high pressure, so fitting should be done by a tyre fitter with the right cage and gear. Never inflate a damaged tyre, and replace valves when you fit new tyres.

Run the right pressure for the load, check for cuts and stones after work in rough ground, and rotate tyres where you can. A well looked after 11r22.5 truck tyres will last noticeably longer, and your machine will ride better too.
