Description
A 8m x 12m dome shelter turns two 40ft containers (or four 20ft) into a covered work area, shed or storage bay. You get a 8m wide span with no posts in the middle, so there’s plenty of room to drive machinery in and out.
The cover is 750gsm PVC fabric on a steel frame. It mounts to the top of the containers with base plates, which are welded or bolted in place.

Why go with a container dome?
It’s a lot cheaper than a steel shed of the same size and goes up in a fraction of the time. The containers on each side give you lockable storage as well. If you move, the whole thing comes down and goes with you.
Add a backwall to close off one end, or use a post kit if you only have one container.
Planning your shelter
Before you order a 8m x 12m dome shelter, measure your site and decide how you’ll use the space. Think about which way the wind usually blows (point the closed end into it), how much clearance your machinery needs, and whether you want a backwall to close off one end. Containers need to sit on a level, compacted base so the frame lines up properly.

Freight depends on distance and site access, so we quote it separately once we know your postcode. Regional and remote deliveries are no problem – they just take a little longer to book in.
How ordering works
- Add the item to your cart and check out, or request a quote if you want freight priced first.
- We email a tax invoice and a delivery quote, usually within one business day.
- Pay by bank transfer. Once it clears, we lock in your delivery date.
- We deliver to site, or you collect from the depot.

Questions we get asked
Are the containers included with the 8m x 12m dome shelter?
No, the price is for the dome shelter. We sell new and used containers too, and we can package them together.
How long does it take to install?
Smaller twist-lock domes can go up in a day with a few people. Bigger double truss domes take longer and need lifting gear.
Do I need council approval?
Often yes for permanent structures, especially in town. Check with your local council before you install.
Can I get a different size?
We have a wide range of widths and lengths. If you can’t see what you need, request a quote and we’ll sort it.
